This picture of Bro. Silas was take during our family feast in Francistown, on the 17th January 2012.
Soon after that Bro. Silas got ill and was taken to hospital.

Dear Paul; I am sorry to ear this sad news of death of Br. Silas. I offer my condolences to you and to Botswana Province.Yes, I know Br. Silas as joyful man and was verry commited for the mission. Makadini? which means "how are you?" was Br.'s greeting to me every time we met. Such a jolly person, good sense of humour, just pleasant to listen to, sending us all into pearls of laughter before he even utters a word. Wow! it came as a great shock for me to learn that when i come back to botswana I will never see him again. Well, as he used to say, it shall be well, indeed it shall be well. Rest in Peace dear Brother

I belong to the Vivat Class which is composed of 14 Filipinos and 3 Papua New Guineans. Our community would like to express our deepest condolences and prayers for the death of Br. Silas Tumlay, SVD. We offered daily masses for him upon hearing the news.

FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS

The HOLY EUCHARIST for Bro. Silas, SVD, will be celebrated on Monday, 13th February 2012, at St. Bridget Catholic Mission in Tonota, at 6:00 p.m.

After the Holy Mass there will be a prayer vigil - tebelelo.

The Funeral of Bro. Silas, SVD, will be on Tuesday, 14th February 2012. The funeral celebrations will start in Tonota at 5:30 a.m., from the Catholic Mission - then the conduct will proceed to Francistown.

The actual funeral will be in Francistown, at the Provincial House of the Divine Word Missionaries.
